Here are Dallas and Environs in 1886
In 1886, Dallas could hardly be called Big D, but real estate developers Murphy & Bolanz were working to change that.
With a population of around 25,000, Dallas had over twice the population it had started the decade with, and before the 1890 census, it would grow by half again.
Still, in 1886, there were several landowners in Dallas County with holdings bigger than the entire City of Dallas.
And this map, produced by Murphy & Bolanz, shows them...along with every other landowner in the county.
If one of those tracts was yours, Murphy & Bolanz would be happy to find you a buyer, "on commission only."
